To all, a very happy Republic Day! My name is Anusha, and I am a student in class 4. I’d like to speak a few words about our National Festival today. Every year on January 26th, Republic Day is commemorated, as our constitution was ratified on this date years ago. Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, a Bharat Ratna, wrote it. The Indian Constitution is a vital part of our lives as Indian citizens. The administration of our country is based on its fundamentals.
26th January is, like other festivals, celebrated with great zeal and joy across India. On 26th January, the flag is hoisted and the National Anthem is sung by everyone. Great Indian leaders who fought for India’s independence are remembered. Songs about patriotism are played and sung.

We gained our independence on August 15, 1947, as you are all aware. However, on January 26, 1950, our constitution was ratified, and we became a republic. Dr. B.R. Ambedkar drafted our nation’s constitution. Dr. Rajendra Prasad was elected as India’s first President, and the country’s first general elections were held in 1952.
