Good morning to one and all present here! I’m ABC. As you all know, we have gathered here to celebrate Gandhi Jayanti. It’s an honour for me to deliver a few words on our beloved Bapuji, Shri Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi.
On every 2nd October, we celebrate his birthday. Gandhiji was without a doubt the most genuine and well-known representation of Indian wisdom and culture in our time. His compatriots refer to him as the Mahatma with reverence. He was a truth-seeker, a social reformer, an economist, and a political philosopher.
We refer to him as a yugapurusha, a person who directs in a new age. Gandhiji with his different ideologies made an unrivalled contribution to the Indian national movement. He transformed the Indian National Congress into a people’s Congress and the national movement into a mass movement.
He inspired people to be daring and bold, and he showed them how to oppose injustice without resorting to violence. He was motivated by a desire for individual liberty, which was deeply intertwined with his interpretation of truth and self-realization. His quest for truth led him to deep self-realization of the inner self, as well as into the natural and social world around him, particularly the tradition he considered his own.
Mahatma Gandhi’s role in the Indian Freedom Struggle is regarded as the most significant because he spearheaded the movement for Indian independence on his own. His non-violent and non-violent techniques served as the foundation of the freedom struggle against the British yoke. Gandhi was a “man of the millennium” who taught truth, nonviolence, and peace.
His philosophy and ideology are still relevant today. Gandhi’s philosophy was founded on truth and sacrifice.

Respected Principal, teachers, and all my dear friends. Today is a special day for all of us. Yes, it is the birthday of our beloved Bapuji, Shri Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi. On this special occasion, I would like to deliver a few words on the struggles and principles of our Gandhiji.
We celebrate Gandhi Jayanti every 2nd October with great enthusiasm.
Gandhiji was a person who lived humbly and thought deeply, and he has been held up as an example to us. Throughout his life, he battled for India’s independence against British authority with patience and daring, till the day arrived when India gained independence.
Non-violence, in Gandhi’s opinion, is the ultimate solution to all of the world’s problems. When the British government used guns and muscle power to rule India, Gandhi was a single person who volunteered to fight the British with the weapons of truth and nonviolence, persuading his countrymen to follow in his footsteps.
Gandhi led a decades-long non-violent struggle against British rule in India, which ultimately contributed to India’s independence in 1947. Gandhi’s efforts resulted in India’s independence. Gandhi started nonviolent movements such as the Quit India movement and the non-operation movement.
Gandhiji is our Father of the Nation, but it does mean that he accomplished everything alone. With his ability to identify and nurture patriotism here and there, he was able to plant a forest of human change. He realized that it was not enough to be a leader; he also needed to create leaders.
Gandhism, in a nutshell, consists of the ideas that Mahatma Gandhi presented to the human world. Furthermore, Mahatma Gandhi lived his personal life following these ideas to the greatest extent possible.
The most ancient and timeless value is nonviolence. Nonviolence is at the heart of India’s oldest civilization and culture. While developing his nonviolent concepts and practices, Mahatma Gandhi stated, “I have nothing new to teach you.”
With the simplicity and humility of his existence, he was a spirit of great insight with an iron will and an uncompromising resolve that shaken the British strength to its core. Though he was regarded as a fragile naked man, his philosophies and ideologies are admired all over the world and are still relevant today. Although his beliefs are based on Indian circumstances on the surface, the world considers his philosophy to be universal and timeless.
Even after his assassination, his principles and teachings remain deeply rooted in our hearts, providing a ray of hope that the world can yet improve. We should all try to understand his ideologies and philosophies for a better future. I would like to conclude my speech by quoting his words – “Live as if you were to die tomorrow. Learn as if you were to live forever.”

Greetings to all distinguished guests, teachers, and all my dear friends. My name is …. And I study in … standard. First and foremost, I’d like to express my gratitude to my class teacher for providing me with this opportunity to speak at this special event.
Gandhi Jayanti is an exceptional event that allows us to pay tribute to a great patriotic leader of our country. On October 2nd, the celebrations are commemorated on a national and international level.
What Gandhi accomplished in his lifetime was nothing short of a miracle. Millions of Indians revered him, and he was respected by everybody. He emphasized the abolition of untouchability, the promotion of Hindu-Muslim unity, literacy, and the development of India as a great nation.
His earnestness and self-sacrifice moved the crowd. They were willing to lay down their lives at his command in exchange for the country’s freedom from foreign forces. His name continues to live on. His values, passion, and mission continue to inspire the country after all these years.
Gandhiji was imprisoned by the British government multiple times during his life, yet he never chose the road of violence, instead of giving his voice more power by going on hunger strikes for days.
Gandhiji never claimed to be God or superhuman in any way. He never blame anyone and always accepted his flaws. He was just another ordinary Indian, and both the learned and the uneducated could understand his ways. He was named the “Mahatma” because of his humility and depth of insight in even the most basic of activities.
Gandhism is more concerned with the spirit of Gandhi’s search for the truth than with what he ultimately found. Examining and understanding oneself, rather than taking anyone or any idea for granted, is the cornerstone of Gandhi’s teachings and the spirit of his entire life.
“Truth is far more powerful than any weapon of mass destruction,” Gandhi stated.
The supreme principle of Mahatma Gandhi’s life was the truth, or ‘Satya.’ The Mahatma’s life was a never-ending pursuit for truth, and his path to that goal was riddled with self-experiments and lessons learned from his flaws.
His autobiography was appropriately named ‘My Experiments with Truth.’ Gandhi was a firm believer in the concept of truth being supreme over all other concerns, and that one must unfailingly embrace truth throughout one’s life.
Even though he is no longer with us, his outstanding words and deeds will continue to inspire many others. I would like to conclude my speech by saying one of his famous quotes – “If we could change ourselves, the tendencies in the world would also change. As a man changes his nature, so does the attitude of the world change towards him. We need not wait to see what others do.”
