Vedic mathematics is a concept that was developed by the Indian mathematician Jagadguru Shri Bharathi Krishna Tirathaji in the period between A.D. 1911 and 1918. This concept was introduced by him in the book of the similar name called as Vedic Mathematics Book by Tirathaji Maharaj.

These are a collection of different techniques or sutras introduced by him to help the kids and other individuals solve the mathematical arithmetic concepts in an easy and faster way. It consists of 16 sutras, i.e., formulas and 13 sub-sutras, i.e., sub-formulae; all of which are together used for solving different problems involved in mathematics in arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, as well as conics.

The term “Vedic” has been derived from a Sanskrit word “Veda” which means “knowledge”. In this concept or book, regular mathematical steps are used in different ways so that they can be made easy for kids and other individuals in solving the different problems which are sometimes complex and time consuming, if solved otherwise.

Now, let’s move forward to know more about this.

What is Vedic Maths for Kids?

Vedic Mathematics is a collection of some easy, simple, yet interesting techniques that could help kids learn the most difficult mathematics formula and techniques in an easy way. This could help them a lot in the future where they could be seen as making appropriate use of these techniques and with the help of them, make their life easier.

In this competitive world, where students have to learn each and everything, and yet turn their weaknesses into strengths in order to fight the ever-growing world, we have to help them to deal with it. And in order to do so, we have to find out a perfect solution to that. One such way is the use and study of vedic mathematics that can help kids improve their mathematical skills.

Benefits of Vedic Maths for Kids

In this competitive age where kids are extremely dependent on digital devices for solving the various mathematical problems, these devices are further helping in reducing their abilities for mental calculation. And this is where vedic maths comes to use. There could be various benefits of vedic mathematics. Let’s find them out:

#1. Simplifies Calculations

For those kids, who find it difficult to do the different calculations or who face various difficulties while doing so, or the kids who are not very fond of solving the mathematical problems; vedic maths is an easy yet interesting option for them to carry these out. This can help them in overcoming the various difficulties that they might otherwise face while doing their homework. And for the kids who are already excelling in maths and other subjects, this can be a great boon for them. It can help them in further increasing their speed for calculations or helping them in making those difficult concepts a lot easier.

#2. Enhances Ability for Numbers

Vedic Mathematics has proved in increasing and enhancing the ability for numbers among kids. It can further help them in solving their different problems that are accurately related to cube roots, cubes, square roots, as well as squares in an easier way. With the help of Vedic mathematics, they can easily solve the different problems and calculations calmly and confidently.

#3.Improves Focus, Memory & Concentration

Vedic maths can help kids and other learners in solving their calculations mentally which can further help them in focusing more and concentrating actively. And further, this can help them in improving their memory, thus proving to be another boon for them.

#4. Speed & Accuracy

Vedic maths can help kids in learning some quick formulas with the help of which they can easily do all those difficult sums easily and fastly which can further help them in saving a lot of time. They can solve these mathematical problems with zero usage of calculators.

#5.End Maths Phobia

These concepts can further help kids in making those difficult sums a lot easier for them, thus all those years of stress and sadness could get off in minutes or within a few days after learning these concepts. Thus, they would no longer have any fears.

Vedic Maths Trick for Kids

#1. Multiple any Number by 5

For easier multiplication, take any number and divide it by 2 and add 0 at the end and make it easier.

For example – 6754 X 5

6754/2 = 3377

Now, this number is a whole number, so add 0 at the end

Therefore, 6754 X 5 = 33770

#2.Subtraction from 1,000, 10,000, and 1,00,000

For this, take any number and subtract it from 1000, 10000, or 100000.

You will have to subtract all from 9 and the last from 10.

For example – 1000 – 357

So, for this:

9 – 3 = 6

9 – 5 = 4

10 – 7 = 3

Therefore, the answer would be 643.
