So, sit back and relax as we have compiled a list of the top five creative craft and art ideas for you and your kids that can be enjoyed together. With these activities, your kid’s playtime can turn into creative self-learning time.

List of Craft and Art Ideas for Your Kids

1.  Painting Plant Pots and then Planting Seeds in Them

What a perfect way to spend your afternoon with your kids than to paint away! This activity is one of the most fun and creative ones on the list.

If you have small kids, give them blank terracotta pots and some paint. Let them create their masterpiece. If you have older kids, they can make a pot from scratch. These days, a lot of air-dry clay kits are available in the market. Once they have created a pot of their liking, let them splash or draw or directly paint them. However, you would need to apply a waterproof varnish coat if you wish to preserve and use it outdoors.

Once the pot is ready, help them put some soil in the pot. Splatter some seeds over the soil and water it. Your kid’s very own colourful pot is ready to dazzle on your balcony, window, or garden.

2. Colourful Kaleidoscope

This colourful and fun project never fails to astonish both children and parents alike. A kaleidoscope is a treat to your eyes in every sense. It creates patterns when moved around.

You will need a mirror card, some cardboard tube from your kitchen, glue, sequins, beads, and tape. Tape the mirror card in a triangular shape facing inside. Fit the mirrors in a kitchen tube for easier handling. Cut one transparent plastic piece and one cardboard piece to cover both ends. Glue them on either side of the tube after pouring your beads and sequins inside. Make a hole on the transparent plastic lid to see inside.

You can cover the outer cardboard roll with paint or stickers of your choice. Peep in to see the magic yourself!

Just like the view in a colourful kaleidoscope, The Real School Of Montessori is determined to make your kids’ study time colourful and engaging. We plan our sessions keeping in mind your kids’ interests and requirements for a holistic experience that is sure to help them in their curriculum.
