Independence Day Essay for Children

India got independence on August 15, 1947, after two hundred years of British rule. The primary Prime Minister, Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru, hoisted the Indian flag at the Red Fort for the primary time to celebrate the country’s freedom. Underneath British colonial rule, India had struggled for many years. The liberty fighters fought against country rulers, sacrificing their lives for a noble cause.

Independence Day is celebrated each year to commemorate the events of the liberation struggle. On this day, we tend to celebrate the wealth and diversity of our country, and also the unity we’ve among all Indians. The unity of the liberty fighters from everywhere in the country evokes us to live in harmony.

On the national holiday, there are celebrations across the country. Individuals and communities move to host the flag and pledge allegiance to that. The country’s largest celebration takes place within the capital, New Delhi. Schools, too, have a special celebration wherever students sing patriotic songs and attend the flag hoisting ceremony.

Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru who was the first Prime Minister of India unfurled the Indian flag which is Tiranga from the Red Fort in New Delhi. This happened in the morning when the news of Indian freedom came. Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru was the primary prime minister of independent India. From then on, it became a practice of a national holiday.

Each year on this day, our honourable prime minister hoists Tiranga from Red Fort followed by a speech full of pride and honour, the anthem, and parades by military and Paramilitary forces. Together with this, each state, establishment, each public and government sector workplace, and residential area celebrate national holidays by confirming our freedom fighters and our flag.

Lastly, when nearly every fellow of the country, men, girls and youngsters, and each leader in India united to show the country’s rule upside down, India finally earned freedom on the fifteenth of August 1947. This day is a day of pride for each country’s men. A sense of nationalism and integrity prevails in everybody. These feelings ought to be saved and used to create our country a good one.

The kids must acknowledge the names of the greatest freedom fighters of India who fought to bring independence back to the people of the country.
