#1. Biogas From Animal Waste

Biogas is an excellent natural fuel that is produced from human or animal waste. In rural areas, it is used as a fuel in place of LPG, and also for generating electricity. Not only is it cheap, but also safe for the environment. Biogas mainly contains methane (CH4), which is produced by the decomposition of organic matter (such as cow dung) through a process called anaerobic decomposition.

As the name of the process suggests, bacteria break down the organic waste in the absence of oxygen. The kind of bacteria that are involved in this process is known as anaerobic bacteria. So, all you need to do is, make your own biogas. This project requires minimum supplies and is very easy to execute.

#2. Demonstrate Phototropism

Do plants grow in the direction of light?

This biology project is for demonstrating an important property of plants — Phototropism.

It is the ability of plants to grow towards a light source, no matter where they are. While working on this project, you’ll be surprised by how intelligent these plants can be!

#3. Learning Osmosis Using Potatoes

For those who don’t know, osmosis is a process through which solutes in a solution moves from a lower concentration area to a higher concentration area via a semipermeable membrane. You will be using potatoes for performing this experiment. It is pretty easy and doesn’t require a lot of supplies, and it also helps you clear your concept of osmosis in the best way.

# 4. Create a Model of Human Lungs

This is another great science project idea you can try out. Although it is slightly tricky, kids will surely enjoy working on it. In this lung-making project, you will need a few supplies, like balloons that will represent your lungs, straws that will work as the human trachea, and so on. Generally, when we breathe or inhale air, our diaphragm gets contracted, and thus, creates more space for the lungs to fill in air.

When we breathe out, the diaphragm relaxes back and comes into its original position. Thus, the space inside our chest gets smaller, and the air is forced out of the system.

#5. Create a Wildlife Documentary

If creating a biology model or experimenting on a basic concept sounds boring to you, then you can be more practical by visiting your nearest Zoology park, or zoo. Now, what you need to do is, observe the wildlife and record your research. See the animals, learn about their living environment, their internal processes (digestion, excretion, reproduction), their eating habits, and so on. You can either record videos or make a slideshow presentation by using these clips.

#6.  Create a Model of Human Heart

Here comes one of the most favourite science projects for an exhibition-making a human heart!

With this project, you’ll be able to demonstrate the working of the human heart in an exact way. The best part is, you don’t need too many materials; some balloons, PVC pipe caps, drip pipe, and physioball will do the job. Also, this model can be easily created in just around an hour. There are tons of YouTube tutorials you can watch for creating this project. This working model of the human heart will surely impress your teachers.

#7.Survey on the Disease Prevailing In Your Locality

Here is another impressive biological project for exhibition. All you have to do is research the diseases and infections prevailing in your locality, neighbourhood, or city. Prepare a report showing what it is, how it is caused, how severe it is, what are its symptoms, who is at risk, what can be done to prevent it, etc. A good example of such a disease is Tuberculosis.

You can create an entire report on it using online resources, or visiting a medical centre nearby and talking to some experts there.

This is again an effortless and easy project. Here you’ll be making natural compost by using garden soil, organic waste, and water. All you need to do is, grab one or two disposable glasses and fill them half with garden soil, then organic waste (dead leaves, vegetable scraps, etc.), and again top it with the soil.

Add 1-2 tablespoons of water, cover the cups with cling foil, and leave them in a sunny place undisturbed for a couple of days. On your exhibition day, you will have two cups full of nutrient-rich compost.

That’s it!
