Pandemics, Compound interest, Nuclear chain reactions, Memes going viral-do they all have anything in common? Join in the session "Sequence, Series, and Patterns" to share your ideas and take a step to train your mind to see the world through the eyes of mathematics by finding underlying patterns to numbers.
Students replicate how a number pattern would progress by placing rice grains on a checkerboard. They get to judge the speed of growths of different number patterns with this hands on exercise.
This session introduces students to the mathematical idea of exponential growth and demonstrates how it finds it’s application in different domains of our lives like finance, healthcare, population etc.
Ensure the following prerequisites are available in the session:
1. Notebook
2. Pen
3. A4 sheet
4. A bowl of uncooked rice
