1. Climate:

Why don’t penguins and polar bears live in our places? The reason is that animals live in places according to the climate. Even though they don’t wear clothes like us, they have their own strategies to keep themselves cold during summer and warm during winter. Birds use their feathers to protect themselves in all climates, similarly, animals make use of their fur. But, we humans need clothes to protect ourselves according to the climate. That’s why we wear cotton clothes in summer and woolen clothes in the winter season.

2. Brain development:

Have you ever wondered why animals don’t build different varieties of home like ours? So one of the main reasons why animals do not need clothes but we do is because of the brain development of the human being. Right from the birth of a baby, its brain starts developing. But animals’ brains are not capable of creating cloth or a cave in different designs. Unlike human beings, the hands of animals are not capable of sewing clothes or wearing a cloth.

3. Identification:

Have you ever seen a dog wearing a uniform and going to school or work? So this is another reason why animals do not need clothes but we do. We identify a particular animal from its body features and structure. But humans have broader tools for identification. Each organization has their own uniform which makes people different from other organizations. For example, a school student wears a specific uniform that is different from a doctor’s uniform.

4. Expressing individuality:

All human beings have a  distinct taste in clothing. Cloths have a crucial role in expressing our individuality.  Some people love to wear jeans and shirts, while others love to wear Tees and trousers. Only a small population dress in the same manner. Similarly, for the different functions, we have different types of clothing. Humans use clothes as a means to express mood, views, and individuality. For example, for Valentine’s Day people wear red, environment day – green, for protests and strikes people wear black to express their needs, and the list goes on. All these do not apply to animals.

Why do we need food?

Why do most parents have strict food regimes? Why are they always scolded for not having food on time? Above all, why do we need food? Living beings cannot survive without food. It is an obvious and essential part of our survival. Food gives us the energy and nutrients to grow and develop into a healthy human being. Only then we could be healthy and active, to play, learn, think and work. Food is not only essential for our physical health but also our mental and social health. Each food contains particular nutrition such as protein, minerals, carbohydrates, vitamins, fat etc, which are important for our mental and social health.

Why do organisms need food?

Imagine that you planted a rose flower and forgot to water for two or three days. What will be its condition? It won’t look healthier as it used to, right? The same thing applies to human beings also. So let’s find out why organisms need food?

1. Energy

How do computers and mobile phones work? Our body also works like a machine. Just as machines need electricity/fuel to work, our body needs energy supplied from different sources. Energy plays a crucial role in producing proteins, maintaining the body temperature, generating electric pulses in nerve cells and also producing new cells.

2. Immunity

When we are sick, does medicine alone help in curing our sickness? When we have the right amount of food along with medicine, faster will be the healing. Food provides us with the immunity that always prevents infections, colds, and coughs to a great extent. A person who eats healthy food will have a very good immune system. Consuming foods rich in Vitamin A like strawberry, kiwifruit, oranges etc will help in improving white cell production which helps in fighting infection. Similarly, each food provides different varieties of nutrients that help in maintaining a good immune system.

Why do we need nutrients?

We must be aware that the words “food” and “nutrition” are often used interchangeably, which is not entirely accurate. What are nutrients and why do we need nutrients?. Food is a mixture of several substances that are consumed for nutrients. Nutrition, on the other hand, refers to a dynamic process in which the human body utilizes swallowed food for nourishment. Our bodies are nourished in proportion to the amount of food we consume. Inadequate protein, energy, or carbohydrate intake frequently results in disease or infection. There are six main essential groups of nutrients.

1. Protein:

Protein is essential for the body’s construction, not simply for muscle. Protein is found in every cell of our body, from bone to skin to hair. We get protein from both plants and animals.

2. Carbohydrates:

Carbohydrates supply energy to your body, which is one of their key purposes. After digestion, the carbohydrate (starch and sugar) breaks into glucose, which is a type of sugar, which then will be absorbed by our small intestine and large intestine and then released into the bloodstream. Glucose in the bloodstream is used to store energy.

3. Fats:

Many of your body’s activities rely on fat, including vitamin and mineral consumption, blood clotting, cell formation, and muscular action. Although fat is abundant in calories, it is an important source of energy for our body.

4. Vitamins:

Vitamins are essential for preventing sickness and maintaining a healthy lifestyle. These micronutrients are required by the body to function properly. Vitamins are potent antioxidants and may minimize the risk of lung and prostate cancer. Vitamin C strengthens the immune system and aids within the healing process.

5. Minerals:

Minerals, like vitamins, aid in the body’s support. They’re necessary for a variety of bodily processes, including the development of strong bones and teeth, the regulation of your metabolism, and maintaining proper hydration. Calcium, zinc, and iron are some of the most prevalent minerals.

6. Water:

Without food, we can survive for a few weeks, but without water, we can only go for a few days. Water is good for our brain and our emotions. In the body, it works as a shock absorber and lubricant. It also aids in the removal of pollutants, the transport of nutrients to cells, the hydration of the body, and the prevention of numerous diseases.

Do you think our world is only for human beings? If so, we won’t be able to survive on our planet for a long time, because every living organism is dependent on one another. If one gets a problem, the entire balance of the living being will collapse. Every organism needs food to survive. But we should never use it as a privilege to kill innocent animals around us to satisfy our selfish needs because our earth belongs to everyone.
