In Mathematics, Fractions can be defined as the part of a whole thing. So, whenever, one thing is divided into two or more, it can be categorised under the concept of fractions.

For example – There is a pizza that you and your kids are eating and there are a total of 4 people out there. So, in order to divide that pizza into four people equally, you need to make use of Fractions and then each piece will be represented by ¼.

Fractions represent a part of a portion of something. So, it helps us to represent equal parts of the whole. Every fraction has two parts – Numerator as well as Denominator. The upper part of the fraction is called the “numerator” and the lower part of the fraction is called the “denominator”.

Students have to take two cards each and determine whose fraction is the largest. So, the person with the largest fraction gets to keep all the four cards and let them play this game until all the cards are gone and finished. So, the kid with the maximum number of cards wins the game.

Paper Plate Fractions

Get some colourful or plain paper plates for your kids and give them a fraction number and ask them to divide their plates according to that fraction. And in this way, they’ll learn fractions in a fun and easy manner.

Fraction Hopscotch

Draw fraction hopscotch on the ground using some coloured tapes and label the squares with fractions instead of numbers. Kids have to throw a marker and wherever it goes, they have to jump at that place and then solve that fraction number to provide its answer.

That’s some really easy technique to help your kids learn the concept of fractions. Fractions for kids can be made super easy with the help of this game. All you have to do is draw some circles on a blank sheet of paper and divide it into three of four or how many parts you want to and then provide your kids with a number and ask them to colour that portion inside the circle.
